Was not hard to install. Use a prop or have a second person to hold up what you are install them on.They fit exactly. Super easy to install. I installed 5 in less than 30 minutes.Took less than 10 minutes to uninstall and install 2 new gas springsbest match to oem used on boat motor hatchJust with the doctor ordered. The two are purchased hold up a big rear cargo door of my Holiday rambler and they make it easy to open and close now. It's been a few months and they're still working as the first day I installed them.Installation of these lifts was quite annoying. The instructions are garbage and the safety tab (that's what I'm calling it at least) is tricky. You have to remove it just enough to put this lift into place, but then put it back into place without popping it out. One of the safety tabs fell out and I spent 30 minutes trying to get it back into place. That said, once they were in place, they stayed put and work great! The price also seems fair to me. Just be careful when installing them. They sent the wrong size the first time had to send back and reorder but the second one worked perfectly. The pair appear to be an exact replacement and so exactly what I need for my RV cargo doorThe only downside is that the installation instructions are printed on the back of the plastic sleeve they come in and are small print and so very hard to read. Admittedly they probably won't be needed. Just in case, when I get around to installing them, I'll go the JR website who will hopefully have a PDF version. My boat has an inboard engine and a large and heavy engine room cover. One of struts got bent by a men who did the winterization. He then ordered a wrong strut to put in (higher load force than the original) which caused earlier failure of the hinge joint on the cover. I repaired the cover, and was trying to find the right strut. Fortunately I found this one. The delivery was fast, the build quality looks good. I have put in this strut replacing the wrong one. I could see the immediate benefit: when closing the cover, it is balanced now (previously, one side was very hard to close).Great used it to hold up a plywood door on a trailer cover I built.Search gas spring suppliers to get the proper capacity and attachment geometry if you are building from scratch. Also ensure the cartridge side is mounted higher to keep the internal seal lubed.Purchased one last year when we bent one on our boat’s engine compartment... Delivery was super fast & well packaged... Fits perfect, works great. Then, wouldn’t yah know it, the other side bent this year... Bought another and received another with the same great service & product. ????These were an exact match. I had a different end, more round with a pop out center but these fit perfectly. The old set would just keep the boat engine bay cover up if not wet or cold but you could not trust it. Half way through the lift these gas struts lift the cover the rest of the way and easily keep it on place. excellent quality product.Super achat s’adapte bien , identique à l’ancien!
