Once installed, this works great! Installation can be a bit tricky. It doesn’t make the doors latch, but it does close them. If you have doors that easily latch in the close position these will work great.I don’t care that my doors don’t latch.I put two in a door that resists closing because of carpet. Works pretty good.My kids would use the Jack-and-Jill bathroom attached to our master bedroom in the early morning and forget to turn the light off, which would wake me up. This was a quick and easy fix to keep the door on my side closed. It was a little tight to install on a door with the hinges on an corner, but I was able to persuade it into place.All of these bad reviews are from people not installing this properly.Pull your hinge pin out a little bit. Use a flathead screwdriver and a hammer, whatever you need.The spring will go OVER the hinge.CLOSE the door before installing.Just because you're weak and can't pull the spring further than 160* doesn't mean that physics (Wiki: Leverage) won't open the spring.Pull it apart and slide it on. If you want to slide some protection between the spring ends and the door, go for it. I don't care and my doors aren't on some irreplaceable temple. If you're that concerned, spend more than $8.This thing works really well. It doesn't SLAM a door at all. My door is light af and it closes nicely. Even if it slams, get some adhesive pads from Home Depot or wherever and put it in the door frame so it "slams quietly".People need to think and read other reviews before screaming into the void.Good product. I'll get another when I need one. A+Kind of jinky looking, and it seems like it might leave a dent in the hollow door eventually, but effective enough and priced right.So easy to “install” and solved my constantly ajar pantry door. Highly recommend!This is a neat and simple solution. My only critique is that the spring could be under less tension as it has a tendency to slam the door. Also because of the high tension of the spring the metal will immediately start to dig into the door and the wall/frame, so I recommended putting something under the arms of the spring to pad it. I used felt pads I had lying around. It will be a bit creaky at first but some oil on the spring will make it nice and quiet. Even some pam from your kitchen will do. All in all a good product, but the high tension makes it a little less desirableWatch videos I found that by removing the hinge pin - Then putting pin through spring hole and reinserting pin made for an easier installation reason, spring tension trying to slip spring over head of hinge pinIt takes a little muscle power to install. The spring is very strong. I have it on my bathroom door and it will slam shut if I let go to soon. I am very satisfied. I can say this would easily work on my front door. I am thinking of buying more.
